While editing a documentary video, use a script to create a first draft. While drafting use a hook at the intro to grab viewers’ attention immediately. This could be a compelling question, an interesting fact, or a brief preview of what the video will cover. Make sure it aligns with the content of the video to set expectations. A hook should be relevant, intriguing, and compelling. Also make sure to use a call to action at the outro. The call to action should be clear, specific, and urgent.

Editors, take note of the cuts that are made, for example be careful not to have jump cuts in your videos. blank/black video areas, abrupt.
